Hotkey Search

A search field with a global keyboard shortcut: press / anywhere to focus it — but the key still types normally if you are already in a text field. Escape blurs it, and the shortcut is advertised via `aria-keyshortcuts`.

Verified against the @publictheta/ui-spec hotkey-search specification on both the React and vanilla reference implementations, across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit.

  • Axe — No WCAG 2 A/AA axe-core violations
  • Focus — A visible focus indicator appears on keyboard focus (WCAG 2.4.7)
