Toast

A transient notification. Pressing the trigger shows a message in a polite live region (so it is announced without moving focus); it auto-dismisses after a few seconds and can also be dismissed manually. It carries one optional action — the “Deleted Report.pdf · Undo” every desktop app offers — reachable by keyboard, since a toast never takes focus. The conformance suite verifies the timed dismissal with a controlled clock, so it is deterministic rather than waiting in real time.

Verified against the @publictheta/ui-spec toast specification on both the React and vanilla reference implementations, across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit.

  • Axe — No WCAG 2 A/AA axe-core violations
